1Goal Campaign Global Launch

http://www.join1goal.org/home.php

1GOAL is a campaign seizing the power of football to ensure that education for all is a lasting impact of the 2010 FIFA World Cup. Raising our voices all over the world we believe that, together, we can make education a reality for the millions of boys and girls who remain out of school.

“This is our chance to show not just out-of-school children, but our own children, that when we make a promise, we keep it. With your help, we could have billions of fans cheering not just for their teams, but for one team: 1GOAL. This is our moment to shine; we can bring millions of children in from the shadows of ignorance, and light up their lives with the legacy of education.” ~ Her Majesty Queen Rania Al-Abdullah Co-Founder and Global Co-Chair, 1GOAL

Bsmrt Technical Pilot goes Live

Currently we are running a technical pilot (commenced mid October 2009). Hence, we have not undertaken any form of marketing or publicity - not even viral. Even so, at the last count, Bsmrt had served over 4 million pages to 50,000 unique users who have visited over 200,000 times. The average user visits Bsmrt once a week and spends 11 minutes there.  We anticipate a massive increase in user numbers when Bsmrt is soft launched and we begin the viral marketing campaign.

Soft Launch of MyAIDSNexus Imminent

http://www.myaidsnexus.org

MyAIDSNexus aims to bring the flexibiltiy and power of social networking sites (like Facebook or LinkedIn) to the HIV & AIDS sector.  MyAIDSNexus provides free, open and anonymous access to most of the content it houses.

MyAIDSNexus is the new site from AIDSPortal.  AIDSPortal is a global initiative that aims to facilitate greater knowledge sharing and networking among organisations involved in the response to HIV and AIDS.  We are managed by the UK Consortium on AIDS and International Development.

The  vision is a more efficient and effective response to HIV and AIDS.  We work through this vision through two strategies.

  • building the capacity of partner organisations that share our vision. These are typically networks operating at a national, regional or global level.  We currently have regional partnerships in Eastern and Southern Africa and Latin America.

  • maintaining an information hub and acting as an information facilitator in areas where we do not yet have partnerships.
